Stereo microscopes (also known as dissecting microscopes) provide a three-dimensional view of larger specimens for inspection, assembly, dissection, and research. They use two separate optical paths—one for each eye—to create true depth perception, making them ideal for surface-level examination and manipulation of objects.

Unlike high-magnification compound microscopes, stereo microscopes offer lower magnification with a wide working distance and a comfortable, natural 3D viewing experience. Illumination can be provided from above, below, or both, depending on the specimen and application.

These microscopes are widely used in electronics inspection, dissection, quality control, and general laboratory work where precision handling and surface detail are required.
